Xenophobia in South Africa

south africa has it all - Xenophobia in South Africa

Xenophobia is the dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries according to the dictionary.

South Africa has been in the international news a lot regarding Xenophobic attacks on foreigners. This is not true at all toward international visitors from first-world countries or abroad.

By foreigners, the news actually had to refer to Zimbabweans, Nigerians and Mozambicans specifically.

Due to limited jobs and poverty in their own countries, these sometimes to mostly illegal immigrants (doing casual labour such as construction in South Africa at very low rates).

The immigrant workers look for greener pastures / jobs in South Africa (which is a more wealthy country than than their own).

The South African casual or freelance workers working for a minimum wage (so called blue-collar worker as you would call them in your own country), would then be left to compete for a very low daily rate. This has therefore caused South African casual labourers to feel absolute anger toward these people.

As a company we would like to emphasise that violence needs to stop and compassion needs to be provided in the community for the less fortunate.
