You will need a jumpsuit set and a beanie for the cool morning and evening game drives. The wind on a game drive can be cold in winter. You can go with something like a cargo short and a short sleeve t-shirt midday when it is warmer. In summer it is very hot and short sleeves will be best. Always pack a light jersey for the cloudy days. The weather changes from time to time during the day. When you have booked for the summer months that has a lot of rain, get yourself a waterproof jacket or a raincoat. Then you are prepared for when it starts to rain. The safari vehicles have waterproof roofs for the sun, however, wear a poncho or raincoat to block the light raindrop splattering that can come from the sides.

The dry season months are the following:

April marks the end of summer and is a transitional month. The mornings are cool down to 12°C/54°F and the afternoons are increased to 27°C /81°F.

June, July and August: Morning game drives are in open safari vehicles, so it will be cold. We recommend that you pack warm clothes. The average temperature in the morning is (10°C/50° F). The day temperature is (26°C/79°F).

September mornings are less cold (14°C/57°F). The heat begins in the afternoon (29°C/84°F) and then rain can occur. Rain may be delayed until November some years.

Wet season months are as follows:

October & November will start getting warmer and it will start to rain more often, mostly in the afternoon. 18°C/64°F is the morning temperature and afternoon (31°C/88°F).

December, January & February is the hottest and wettest months. The day temperatures are around 32°C/90°F and can be uncomfortable (40°C/104°F).

March & April the rainfall ends and the temperature slowly decreases. The nights get a bit chilly, however, are still pleasant at about 18°C/61°F. Daytime temperatures are around 30°C/64°F.
