The Cape Town drought and considerations, effects on travel to the Garden Route

Cape Town droughtThe Cape Town drought is confined to the city itself.

We offer tours along the Beautiful Garden route. None of the areas you will visit is in drought, so you can experience the beautiful Garden Route & Addo tours. Garden Route & Addo Park had a lot of rain the last two weeks. Our weekly tours to these areas still boasts photos that are beautiful and lush as always.

Attractions that you will probably visit before or after your tour with us will be open as usual: Cape of Good Hope National Park, Boulder Beach penguins, Robben Island, Table Mountain , Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, V&A Waterfront, the Cape Winelands, Just to name some of them. Restaurant, Bars, Shops and Hotels have made plans to keep their doors open for business.

For the example, swimming pools have been change to saltwater pools and hotels/guesthouse/backpackers have many boreholes. Local tourism organizations have prepared this excellently!

When hearing about the Cape Town drought, you get a picture of a hot, dead and nothing grow there,  but it is not like that at all. If you drive through the wine lands with all the vineyards and see the Cape Peninsula with all the fynbos vegetation (when you are in the city with the beautiful table Mountain as a backdrop), it all still looks spectacular. During this drought in Cape Town, it is just the reservoirs that are really low in the city.

The next question is, what can you as a tourist do for Cape Town and the Community (after and during this Cape Town drought)?

Cape Town and all of South Africa is very reliant on tourism, and without your support the Cape Town drought would not be the only problem, but many people might lose their jobs.

Use water sparingly when you are travel. Take a short showers; do not leave the tap running while you wash hands or brush teeth; please re-use towels another time, rather than getting a new towel every day.

To summarize: Travel To South Africa, we are open for business, come and enjoy the beautiful Garden Route with Kruger Park Tours.
